I thought this was no big deal, but l was getting beat by him and that made me realize I wasn't the best a sports with a ball.  Summary: Today in class we completed a Newsela while Mr.Rease had a substitute  Reflection: I liked the lesson because the article we read was on an interesting topic everyone should know about the dangers of self diagnosis.

Describe something you will never fully understand

Prompt Response:  One thing I will never understand is why people judge others so quickly. Everyone acts like their opinion is the only right one and when someone disagrees or judges them they get defensive. I find it hard to figure out why people judge so quickly, especially when people judge people they don't know. I'll never fully get why people act that way. Summary: Today in class we looked at and annotated a poem by Robert Frost  Reflection: I like Robert Frost's poems because they are easy to understand. His poems are also about relatable topics which helps in understanding them.

Describe when you had a moment of unexpected kindness.

Prompt Response:  I and my family were taking a trip to Florida for hurricane relief services. We were going with a larger group but traveling separately. When we got there it was a mess, people had taken the entire contents of their house which was now ruined, and put it out on the curb. Most of the work we were doing was cutting trees that had fallen down. We got to the first house and finished within a couple hours the owner of the house was so grateful that he offered us candy. This was such an unexpected moment of kindness for someone to offer us candy when he lost everything.  Summary: Today in class we analyzed a new poem and started a presentation project about things that are beautiful forever.  Reflection:  I liked the lesson because I got to work by myself. However, I needed help finding and describing some things that don't stay beautiful.

Write about a feeling that took you by surprise.

Prompt Response:  One Saturday, when all the chores were done, I played video games. It was like any session of gaming: I played for an hour, but when I was playing, I kept losing. Like any person, I hate losing, and it frustrates me. I found that losing that particular day made me not feel upset but determined to win. The feeling of determination surprised me.  Summary:  Today in class we started reading and analyzing a new poem  Reflection:  I thought that the poem was weird. I'm a squeamish person and reading about someone dying because they cut off their hand doesn't sit well.
