 Prompt Response: One Saturday, when all the chores were done, I played video games. It was like any session of gaming: I played for an hour, but when I was playing, I kept losing. Like any person, I hate losing, and it frustrates me. I found that losing that particular day made me not feel upset but determined to win. The feeling of determination surprised me. 

Summary: Today in class we started reading and analyzing a new poem 

Reflection: I thought that the poem was weird. I'm a squeamish person and reading about someone dying because they cut off their hand doesn't sit well.

Prompt Response:  When I shop, I don't look where the product was made. It doesn't matter to me where a product is made as long as the quality of the product is great. I wouldn't pay extra for something made in the United States because if I'm comparing to products I'm only looking at price and quality to make my decision.  Summary: Today in class we read an article and anwserd questions and did a writing prompt on it.  Reflection:  I liked the simple assignment on a Friday because I was really tired.

Who is the best cook in your family?

Prompt Response:  My mom is the best cook in my family. She has been cooking for a long time and everything she makes is amazing. She can try to cook something once, fail, and the next time she tries it, it's perfect. A meal that I really love is her pork buns. They are really tasty and I can bring them for a lunch or have them at the house to eat. They are really good and one of my favorites.  Summary: Today in class we finished our cultural food posters Reflection:  I liked having a work period to finish my class work instead of going home and finishing it.

Write about a book, poem, or article you’ve read that made you feel something deeply

  Prompt Response:   A book that made me feel deeply was "The Sunrise on the Reaping." The book made me feel sad. In the book, a previous character in past books was revealed to have a son. His son was put in the games as a way to punish him. I felt bad for him and his son Ampert who died of mutations that ate him alive. That was a moment in the book that really made me feel deeply sad. Summary:  Today in class we did a common lit assignment to help prepare us for the EOC.  Reflection: I thought that the practice was useful and I thought that the passage was interesting.
