Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

 Prompt Response: A moment when I stepped out of my comfort zone was at a very hard swim practice. This was a Saturday practice and we were doing a test set. A test set is a practice where you swim a set but every time the time interval drops you have to swim faster and faster. You do this until you can't. This particular one was hard and I had to push my self beyond what I was used to. I was able to make it to the end with a few other people. 

Summary: Today in class we had two assignments. The first was to read chapters 10-11 of "A Lesson Before Dying," and then answer discussion questions about each chapter. The second assignment was writing a letter from the pov of one of the characters asking for advice. 

Reflection: I liked class the assignments were not too difficult and I was able to work independently.

  Prompt Response:  One truth I have had a hard time accepting is that I'm bad at most sports that involve a ball. I'm a swimmer and that's what I do but I still like to think I can play them well. This hit me when I played basketball with some friends and one of their little siblings joined in. I thought this was no big deal, but l was getting beat by him and that made me realize I wasn't the best a sports with a ball.  Summary: Today in class we completed a Newsela while Mr.Rease had a substitute  Reflection: I liked the lesson because the article we read was on an interesting topic everyone should know about the dangers of self diagnosis.

When you shop, do you check where products come from?

Prompt Response:  When I shop, I don't look where the product was made. It doesn't matter to me where a product is made as long as the quality of the product is great. I wouldn't pay extra for something made in the United States because if I'm comparing to products I'm only looking at price and quality to make my decision.  Summary: Today in class we read an article and anwserd questions and did a writing prompt on it.  Reflection:  I liked the simple assignment on a Friday because I was really tired.

9/16/24

 Today in class we started to type up our essay that we have been working on for the past week. The topic of my essay was on goals I had this year. I learned that writing an essay is not as hard as it seems at first glance. I like the lesson because I got to see the work I've done starting to come into a finished product. I did struggle a little writing my opening and closing paragraphs but nothing in can't over come. Feeling great today I revised my schedule to fit all I need to do. So I have time for everything I need to do in a day.
