Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

But on my 14th birthday, I received a phone and it was the best gift. I finally was able to connect with friends and have a tool of communication, and a device that I use daily.  Summary: Today we had questions on chapters 6-7 of "A Lesson Before Dying" after reading it.  Reflection:  I like chapters 6-7; the questions were short and simple.

When I was younger when my mom would make mashed potatoes I always saw her put them into a pot of water, but never saw her do the other steps to make it. So when I was younger I thought putting potatoes in a pot of water would magically turn them into mashed potatoes.  Summary: Today in class we took a benchmark exam Reflection:  I felt good on the exam and will prepare for future things by paying attention in class.

Describe a time you couldn’t stop laughing.

While we were eating we were telling stories when suddenly one of my friends shot up and started screaming and running. we were confused when he came back and told us he had seen a snake. When we found the so-called snake it was really a worm and we all started laughing about what just happened.  Summary: Today in class we went to our school auditorium to talk about college  Reflection:  I like going to the auditorium to discuss my future because I rarely think about it and it helps me see that it is coming when I have to think about it.

Write about a fear you have overcome.

Prompt Response:  One fear I've overcome was the fear of the dark. When I was younger I was really scared of the dark and hated being in dark places and always slept with a night light. One thing that helped me get over this was when I had something I loved near me. This could have been a person or an object that I could hold on to. Now that I'm older I'm no longer scared of the dark.  Summary: Today in class we started a slide show project about a topic in the book "A Lesson Before Dying"  Reflection: I didn't like the project because it was a new site I'd never used before so it was hard to navigate.

Prompt Response:   One time I got judge unfairly was when I was hanging out with my friends. They wanted to do something and I wanted to do another. Not because I was scared. even though I knew they were joking I was wrongly judged.  Summary: Today in class we started a book called "A Lesson Before Dying." He told me that I shouldn't stress or worry about my future. I guess I've heard that before but when he said it it sunk in and I realized he was right. So now I live with less stress and worry.  Summary: Today in class we had a new vocab set, and did a worksheet about it. Reflection: I liked today because it was more laid-back.
